Qatar Sends Covid-19 Medical aid to Algeria

Algeria receives Covid-19 medical aid from Qatar. Qatar, through the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), has dispatched emergency medical help to Algeria in support of the country’s efforts to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

Barzan Holdings, a company of the Ministry of Defence, provided 200 respirators as part of the humanitarian cargo.

The medical aid provided by Qatar to brotherly and friendly countries, according to QFFD Director-General HE Khalifa bin Jassim al-Kuwari, is an embodiment of solidarity and cooperation between brothers and friends, and it falls within the framework of global efforts to combat the pandemic, based on the duty of common international responsibility.

Abdulaziz bin Ali al-Naema, Qatar’s ambassador to Algeria, emphasized Qatar’s involvement in aiding fraternal and friendly countries since the outbreak of the pandemic, in order to combat the pandemic’s effects and slow the spread of the disease.

The envoy reaffirmed the two sister countries’ solidarity and continuous cooperation, as well as their deep and distinguished relations, saying that Qatar’s leadership and people stand with Algeria.

He went on to say that the two nations’ relations are robust and well-established, that continued cooperation and coordination on common concerns are ongoing, and that the wise leadership of both countries have the will to strengthen cooperation and solidarity in all conditions.
Qatar had already sent 10 tonnes of medical aid to Algeria via QFFD.

Through these initiatives, the State hopes to give a helping hand to brotherly and friendly countries, assisting them in overcoming the global Covid-19 issue.
