Job Description

A Petroleum Engineer at Qatar Petroleum is responsible for designing and implementing solutions for the exploration, development, and production of oil and natural gas resources. This includes conducting reservoir evaluations, designing drilling and completion programs, and analyzing well performance. The role also includes recommending and implementing enhanced oil recovery techniques and collaborating with other teams such as geoscience and drilling to optimize production and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting reservoir evaluations and simulations to optimize production and recovery.
• Designing and planning drilling and completion programs.
• Analyzing well performance and recommending optimization solutions.
• Identifying and implementing enhanced oil recovery techniques.
• Collaborating with other teams such as geoscience, drilling, and facilities to optimize production and recovery.
• Providing technical support and guidance to field operations teams.
• Participating in the preparation of budgets, work programs, and progress reports
• Staying current with new technologies and industry trends in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of reservoir engineering, drilling, and production operations.
• Experience with reservoir simulation software and other industry-specific software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
