Treatment:
It is a disease that does not have proper treatment in normal cases. These lesions resolve on their own without any special treatment. One should avoid touching sores in the mouth and eyes.
However, in severe cases, vaccines such as Vaccinia Immune Globulin (VIG) may be recommended. In addition to it an antiviral known as Tecovirimat, commercialized as TPOXX was also approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of the virus in January 2022.
